La Guerra de los Mapaches

I'm not exactly a fan of anime, but I would recommended this film. “The war of the raccoons in the era of Pompoko” is a Studio Ghibli´s film, performed by Isao Takahata and premiered in Japan on July 16, 1994.

The film is based on the popular Japanese tradition that says the raccoons have the ability to transform into humans or other creatures simply by wanting it. This film tells the story of a community of raccoons who discovers that humans are destroying the forest where they live, to build a new development. Raccoons are prepared to combat the deterioration of its territory, using all their power and their abilities in a war as never seen before.

The most interesting aspect of this production, is that plays numerous controversial issues such as war, violence, the role of old men and women in societies, the expansion of cities and family planning as part of the everyday life of societies today. Despite the seriousness of the topics discussed, the movie has great humor.

In contrast with its high quality, this is one of the least appreciated of Ghibli films to the public. Partly because of its lack of a happy ending, partly because of the negative position acquired by the man in the plot. However these aspects do not take away quality. I recommend it with all sincerity.

Who it would appeal to: It’s a story of live; it suits to dreamers who are always looking for something different.

A film I have always enjoyed is The fabulous destiny of Amelie Poulain. It’s a French and German production launched in 2001. For luck the first time I watched it was on a TV channel, it was a Sunday afternoon in a cinema special. This movie was directed by Jean-Pierre Jenuet and it stars Audrey Tautou, Mathieu Kassovitz and Rufus.

The Director does quite a deep psychological description of every single character. The main ones are a French girl called Amelie, her family, neighbors and future love. The director starts to show us her story before her birth. She comes from a non-traditional French family and his father - a doctor - thinks she has a heart disease then he isolates her, as a result, her mother - a teacher - gives her private classes at home. As a lonely girl Amelie decides to live in her own fantasy, the fantasy she makes to live the viewers while the movie lasts.

Amelie’s adventure is to help the people, as she says: “It's better to help people than garden gnomes”. While she lives the dream of save the world, as she can do it, we can follow the rhythm of her life by the agile voice of a narrator and the sweet sound of the music composed by Yann Tiersen. Moreover she gets pleasure from helping the community and she enjoys doing it in her own way. A guy who lost a mysterious photo album - which Amelie found – publishes and ad, but, she prefers to do a game of this delivery.

Definitely Amelie is a movie I’d recommend to everyone who wants to remember the magic of being a kid. This movie shows us the age isn’t important to define the way we live and it invites us to keep the magic.

Biofuels in Colombia

Biofuels in Colombia

Recently in Colombia politicians have been trying to encourage in people an interest in the developing of technologies to produce fuels like ethanol and diesel from organic sources. They argue that this will reduce pollution in cities and will produce new jobs for farmers.

But instead improve life conditions in Colombia, biofuels is just another criminal business. There are some reports of farmers been forced to leave their lands in Chocó and Cesar departments in order to let big landowners to be able to cultivate African oil palms, the main raw material to produce biodiesel.

On the other hand, the assertion that biofuels reduce pollution is not completely true. They reduce carbon monoxide emissions due to the improvement of engines yield, however they increase the production of nitrogen oxides which produces acid rain, as dangerous for the environment and for humans as carbon dioxide.

We can’t be against the implementation of new technologies but we should strive to make them helpful for all Colombians and not for just a few opportunists.

Some days later a girl is runned over by a car in front of him and she asks Michael for her absolution, Michael does the prayers without nerve, while his superior observes the situation speechless. His superior make a desicion based in that event, he choose Michael for a hard work : he choose him to be an exorcist. That's how we are introduced by Michael sceptical eyes in the world of the demons.

Positive points:

Another movie about an exorcism but much more real and believable than his predecessors. Remarcable job of the actors. Good esthetic. Very scary moments.

Best scene: an hallucination of Michael in wich he saw a mule with red eyes, very disturbing !

Who it would appeal to:

People who enjoy horror movies and want to have some others frame to add to their nightmares.

Personal comments: it's a good movie that adds new expresions of evil to our repertory, new ways to show the

misterious events that surround an evil posesion, interesting characters to people that are sceptical and

to believers too. The "hop" is assured in any moment of the movie. ( expect it )

I really love animation movies for kids, I find it so fun and I laugh like a child. The last movie I saw, was Gnome and Juliet, I liked it so much, that's why i want to share it with you.

Gnomeo & Juliet is a computer animated comedy-drama film based on William Sahkespeare's Romeo and Juliet.

In the story there is tow neighbors who despise each other. When they leave the gardens, all the garden objects come alive. One garden is filled with blue garden gnomes, and the other one have red garden gnomes. Blue and red gnomes, both are rivals of each other and have a lawnmower race. Gnomeo is the son of the blue queen and Juliet is the daughter of red king.

Juliet want a unique orchid which grow in a greenhouse far from her garden. When she was just to catch it, suddenly appear Gnomeo, who was trying to escape from a fight. When they saw each other was love at first sight. But when they discover their colors states that the relationship is romantically tragic.

Gnomeo and Juliet then have secret meetings in a secret garden, where they meet a pink flamingo named Featherstone. He supports and encourages their love, and the two begin to meet regularly. But when Gnomeo return back to his garden, he finds his mother distraught because the reds infiltrated the garden and destroyed the plant Gnomeo's deceased father planted.

The blues want Gnomeo to take revenge on the reds. He tunnels underneath to reach the red garden, but just as he is about to spray the prized flowers of the reds, Juliet sees him. The reds attempt to attack Gnomeo, but Juliet, to the surprise of her father and clan, defends Gnomeo, saying that she loves him. In mettle of the fight Gnomeo ends up on a road, and everyone believes he was run over by a truck but he didn't and can escape.

Gnomeo eventually ends up in a park, and climbs onto a statue of William Sahkespeare and tells him his story. Shakespeare tells Gnomeo that his story is very similar to Romeo and Juliet and that it is likely Gnomeo's will have a sad ending as well. But when Gnomeo come back home the story has a happy ending.

Olivert Twist

This movie is based in a book called with the same name wrote by Charles Dickens and is about a poor woman that was pregnant in london, and she was collected by a hospice and there her child born and she died shortly after. Since that moment the child would begin to live his worst life. In the hospice he was always in problems and lived scared with his mates and hungry. Once He went out from the hospice and he was kidnaped by a thief and he was obligated to steal to pay to the thief, the food and the house where the lived.

At the end he realize that his father is dead and he gets the inherance of his father.

In my point of view this movie is really interesting because the story which will make us open our eyes to the inhumane conditions of the people who are exploited daily.

I watched the last weekend the film 2012; everybody had said to me the film was bored and a waste of time, but I made a decision, so I watched the movie. And this is my opinion about it.

2012, is an epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world, this film is based in a Maya legend about the end of the planet. For this culture the year 2012 will be the last age of the planet. In this film a family has the opportunity to safe and protect themselves to the world destruction when the father discovered in the Yellowstone Park a government base where there were scientists and soldiers protecting the place.

It was directed by Roland Emmerich and starred by John Cusack, Thandie Newton and Chiwetel Ejiofor

The film has many sets around the world; we can see Italy, China, South America, some places from Europe and specially United States.

This film is different because show what is happen currently in the planet, and it make to think in our lives, in the children, in the senior citizens, in the animals and especially in our world.

We would think it film is sci-fi, but true is that we can see maybe, what will happen the next years and what we to make to safe the world and the animals in the planet.

I recommend this movie because is different to other films that show the end of the planet, like independency day or the day after tomorrow.

I want to write about a great movie I saw one month ago and it´s name is " EVERYONE IS FINE".

this movie is about a widower father who is expecting his children arrival at his house in christmas because he had wanted to be with his whole family by this time.
So, later on the movie the father starts calling his children for the meeting at his place and all of them agreed with going there, but actually they were not going because their brother just died and their father did not know anything about it, so as they were making up excuses for not going to the meeting because the did not want his father to know anything about his son death , so their father packed his stuff and left right away from his house to go looking for them.

when the father gets to their children´s houses ( he visted them one by one ), he realized that they were very important people in anything they do while working, all og them had beautiful houses.
Once he got together with all of them and he was asking them about his son, but they did not want to say anything about it, when he got really upset upset they told him about what happened to his son and he got pretty sick and when he was at the hospital he dreamt with his son and they talked to each other for a while.
after that, he got relief and finally thay had a big party at his father´s place and he was really happy because he could achieve their dream whicih was about being together with his children at least once!

to my mind it was a great movie because of the story it is about, I think it is very sad but at the same time it makes you think about everything you have got but you do not value , it is also a movie for everybody because we can learn a lot from it..
I recommend it !!!

LIAR LIAR...

One film I really enjoy was Liar Liar, If you don´t know about this movie I have to suggest you run to see it. This movie, directed by Tom Shadyac, is a amazing history about a family that are on the verge of separating because the father, Fletcher Reede(Jim Carrey), say his son Max (Justin Cooper) and wife Audrey (Maura Tierney) a lot of lies and he promise them a lot of things that he never finally do.

So, things get really complicated when his son has the big idea of ask like a birthday wish that his daddy can´t say a lie in 24 hours because, Fletcher, was a important attorney, who had the most difficult day of his career, for he be honest wasn´t the best way for help his clients. Eventually, all ends are happyness, he understand the real means of the life, and he began to recover all that he lost having this complicated life, and he found a better sense for be in this world, and it wasn´t the money and lies, It was his family.

This movie is a critique about the North American attorneys, what made me want to see it, because when I saw Jim Carrey made this parody, I could understood that the problem is that the people can sell their profesional ethic just for money, and they forget the real important of the family members.

In conclusion, I would recomend this film because It isn´t the typical history about the cinderella, that is a real history, something that happens all the days in our world.

Machete is an action film and talk about an ex-federal mexican agent that he had to go out from Mexico cause his wife and daughter were killed; so he arrived to texas (U.S.A) in that country he has to work hard but he is going to implicate in the murder of senator.

the movie is a bad entertaining film, I mean bad cause it´s so stupid but the photography and musics are excellent. The acting of Danny Trejo like "Machete" is excellent, definitely that role Machete was for him cause is an angry person with a thirst of revange and I never imagined to Steven seagel in a role like the villain that was strange for me. The special effects are excellent but very exaggerated, I mean all the film I only watched pure blood.

this film has many incoherence for example one of that is "how can an ugly guy be with three beautiful girls at the same time", another incoherence is "how can a man speak when he has a machete into his body".

COSMETIC SURGERY IN TEENAGERS

Nowadays we can see that our mind is influenced by the T.V, in special that commercials talk about how do you get the perfect body? and then they show a photo of some celebrity; some teenagers want to look like a celebrity and the way that they can get this too fast is with cosmetic surgery.

It is certainly true that the science has advanced so much than with cosmetic surgery offers another option to change your apperance. Another point in favour of cosmetic surgery is an excellent solution for people that have problem with theirs apperance like scars on the face or something like that, so cosmetic surgery can help to those people overcome low self-esteem.

One argument against cosmetic surgery is the risk that people take in some of this surgery like a liposuction, some of us has heard sometime that this kind of surgery is dangerous in some case people have died because of this surgery.

In my opinion if you are a teenager and your body is good, I mean you don´t have any imperfections as scars in any part of your body or a disfigured face, my advice is that you have to wait that every part of your body develop over the year and then when you are like 25 years old and if you believe that you need a cosmetic surgery, ok it´s fine, it´s your desicion, but first try to think about your identity because if you try to look like another person that you aren´t , probably you´ve lost your personality and never be yourself.

Film review

Inglorious basterds

Inglorious Basterds is a different way to describe the World War II, here two different histories are showed in alternated chapters. One of them relates the adventures of “the basterds” an American lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) and a group of soldiers composed by jews ex war prisoners and convict german ex soldiers who had the mission to kill all the Nazis they can and so brutally that make even Hitler be afraid of them. The other history is about a girl, Shoshanna, who survived the execution of her family commanded by the SS officer Hans Landa while they were hidden in a basement during the german occupation of France. Both histories join together when Shoshanna tries to revenge her family’s death by burning some Nazis leaders in a cinema and the basterds try to kill them too.

Although this is a tragic movie, the way as the soldiers act makes us laugh of dead people scenes. Also, is fun how Nazi leaders like Adolf Hitler and Joseph Goebbels are presented.

Personally I like SS officer Hans Landa character who being an intelligent and pervert murderer shows himself like a gentleman, besides he looks like the Nazi executioner Reinhard Heydrich.

A film I really enjoyed on big screen was like 5 years ago. It was Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man´s Chest. It´s an American movie which was released in the United States in 2006.
What made me want to watch it was the excellent previous movie (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Course of Black Pearl) which had an amazing cast and a spectacular plot too. I was also interested to see the performance of one of the main characters who is extremely gorgeous, Orlando Bloom or, in the movie as Will Turner.

It was directed by Gore Verbinski, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and starred by four excellent actors, Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, Orlando Bloom as Will Turner, Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Swann, and Bill Nighy as Davy Jones.

All begins with the wedding of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann which is disrupted by Lord Beckett who has warrants to arrest both of them for helping Captain Jack Sparrow to escape from his hanging. Will, negotiating with Beckett to get Elizabeth free, accepted to find Jack´s compass which points the direction of what a person most desires. Meanwhile Jack is warned that he´ll be part of Davy Jones´s crew if he doesn’t pay his debt of serving aboard the Flying Dutchman for 100 years, so he decided to go on search of the dead man´s chest (which has inside of it, literally, the heart of Davy Jones.) because the legend tells that the person who stabs the heart will be the captain of the Dutchman.
Whole the movie is about Will, Elizabeth, and Jack´s funny and dangerous adventures (trying to get the dead man´s chest and its key.) which include the places of Pelegostos and Tortuga Islands.

Although the film can be too long there are number of things I really liked about it. The perfect wardrobe, the beautiful places, the spectacular soundtrack, the right dialogue and the excellent actors make this movie one of my favorites.
The film received 4 Academy Award nominations for Best Art Direction, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, and won the Academy Award for Visual Effects.
I would recommend this film to anyone who has an interest in pirates stuff, or just want something perfectly made to enjoy.

Controversial Issues

Public Places, Naked Photography.

Spencer Tunick is a naked- crowds photographer, who has taken pictures of nude crowds in several public places around the world. His record was in Mexico City where he shot a picture to over 18.000 nude volunteer models.

His goal has been drawing the attention about the private and public concept the things that is correct to show and the ones that is social correct to occult. As art pieces his photographs are trying to make a difference furthermore they are always looking for a reaction, some of them on topics related to the global warming and HIV /AIDS.

Some sectors of society have taken his installations as offensives. The church from some places has held the idea that women and men, participants, are losing part of their dignity. Some critics even being comfortable with the nudity believe that Spencer isn’t doing something new. Nakedness and protest has being together for long time ago.

However, as the same Tunick said in the documentary positively naked. It’s an experience of art; it is all about to seize a space the artist coupled with the models. They would like have lived before or do it again.

Gay Marriage

Over the last few years in Colombia has sparked much controversy about the marriage of homosexual couples, which have faced various sectors of society such as the church, the courts, the prosecutor and the LGBT community.

The gay community and the more liberal sectors of society have launched a campaign to legalize marriage between same-sex couples. However they failed to regulate gay marriage, now these couples enjoy the same civil rights as heterosexual couples under the figure of "Unión Libre". Before, same-sex couples didn´t have the same civil rights as heterosexual couples, which was not allowed to be linked to the regime health and social security as beneficiaries of his partner. There were many cases in which people who lived the last years of their lives with their couples have been left without home and without their couples's pension after they died, because the law did not recognize them as permanent couple.

The arguments against gay marriage are proposed by the most conservative sectors of Colombia led by the Catholic Church. Some of them are that homosexuality is unnatural and goes against what God has ordained for human beings, that the family must consist of a man and a woman, and that to ensure civil rights for homosexuals opens doors to allow the adoption of children by same-sex couples.

This last point is one of the most controversial, since as expected, many gay couples want children in their families and in fact lesbian women often become pregnant and then they raise the child by another woman. However, what is at issue here has extended the rights of homosexual couples and touches the rights of children. The questions are: a child raised in a gay family tend to be gay by imitation? There are the same maternal and paternal figures assume the different roles of authority in a gay family? Scientific studies seem to support gay couples, however, Colombian society is still shudders at this possibility.

Exotics animals as a pets

Animals are wonderful companions to have as pets. An animal gives us unconditional love, which cannot be compared to anything else in this world! Dogs and cats are the most common around the world. However, there are many others who prefer to have exotic pets rather than the normal domestic species.

Exotic pets are those animals that are rather unusual to have as pets! This could include various species of reptiles, amphibians, birds and mammals even insects. But people don't know that the best for a exotica an animal is bred in its natural environment.

Domestic pets like cats and dogs can adapt to various environments. However, exotic animals need the perfect environment, proper care and specific diet to be able to survive. Despite what animal sellers may say, this animals often grow to be larger, stronger, and more dangerous than owners expect or can manage. Wild animals also pose a danger to human health and safety through disease and parasites.

There are many laws that prohibit the sale of endangered animals. These laws are issued to sale it such as ‘pets’ around the world. But laws don't protect exotic animals that are not endangered and it should protect it too.

The government nowadays have had important decisions and point of view, about the death penalty in our country, the consequence and the benefits of this law; turning into biggest debates in universities, in the parliament, even into the different religions. The main topic is to know if is necessary in Colombia and if we were preserving the human rights or this will be a revenge law.

To talk of murder can be normal in Colombia, but the estrange is to talk from murder like a law for some cases like violations, massacres and murders of innocent persons, looking this law from this position should be right, but the penal system in this country does not withstand the law, because the corruption prevent the honesty and the good investigation of the cases; for that maybe there are acts of injustice against innocent people.

One part of the society approves the death penalty like the way to do social cleansing, regeneration of the community and savings in spending on prisons; but, many people think that it is happened right now. The people who consume drugs are being murder in the streets , the rapist are being murder in the jails and the army murdered hundreds of country persons and beggar in the cities and show it to the government and the country like a guerrillas, it was the famous false positives.

One argument against the death penalty giving for ONG’s and the religions is to protect the life, the humans right and they say that we need to take into consideration the suitable or not of the law, because Colombia need to improve not to back down in the good process of growth that has had.

In conclusion, Colombia must to analyze of feasibility of this law and the consequences that could happened in the country; I think that we need a referendum to decide if we approve or disapprove and what would be the cases where the law applies.

THE MISTREATMENT FOR ANIMAL!!!

That is a interesting and a polemic topic about our times, because for some group of people is natural the mistreatment of animals, many people nowdays use them like a toy and attack them just for pleasure, that is like their favorite sport. We have to make something since now, because they have the same rights to be here than us! And is so unjust that the people don´t have consciense about the real hurt that are making them. Please! We have to stop it!
Firstly I wanna talk about the dogs that the people use just for appearance, that is so worrying, because in the nature the dresses, the nail polish, and the jewels aren´t part of them, and they are using the dogs like the beauty fashionable accessory for models and famous women. In my opinion they have a unhappiness life because their owners limit them to being instinctive, because they have to be perfect and aesthetic, and they don´t have time for play with others dogs or for be dirty in mud.

Secondly, over the last few years we are in other problem with the animals, that is the real mistreatment, because I don´t understand how, but in the world exist yet, people that enjoy hit and kill animals. That topic is so important, and for touch it, I have to divide it in two big groups, the people that use their skins for make clothes and cosmetics, and the horrible people that use them like a toy of death. There are two main reasons why I think that this kind of people don´t deserve the life that God, the univers or whatever think that created us, gave to us. How we can enjoy a damage to our brothers? Because they are our brothers, they are our accompanists in this world, we are sharing the same world whit them!

In conclusion, please! Get consciense about this big problem, the animals don´t deserve the treatment that the ignorant and terrible people are giving to them! Make something, I don´t know, maybe a advertising campaign in the networks, a little thing that you make can be so important for help them!

New fertilisation techniques make it possible for women to have babies in their fifties, o even sixties. ¿Should they be allowed to have babies at this age?

The maternity is a beautiful right that each woman has in her life but what he people dont know is that be parents isnt a game or even an easy biological experiment. That includes mor than a name, more than feeding, more than clothes. The maternity requires love, time and dedication to that person who will be part of us in th future.

This topic, in my opinion, is interesting because many people nowadays think only in themselves and doesnt matter some important details about the baby´s growth process like ¿How would be his/her family?, ¿How his/her parents behavior would affect his personality?, and something like that.

There are two main reasons why I thinck they should be allowed to have children at this age. Firstly, because someone (at this elderly) wants a baby is because she thinks tha she will love the baby an she would be happy with him/her. And secondly, because the baby will be desired and she/he would be treated with love by the mother at this age or if she were younger it could in the same way.

One argument against is that the health of both of them (the mother and her baby) could be in danger because of her age and the baby´s birth could have complications.

Another argument against is that she won´t have the same energy to offer to the baby, because of her age.

As we can see the mother´s age is a problematic situation but, in my opinion, it depends on what they think and what they have planned for thei life. Nobody can decide for them.

Smoking and The public health

Well, I chose this topic because is really interesting know more about the smoking and its impacts in the life of the people that got an addiction and which will be the future for those people, and also know how the normal people who hate the cigarette avoids the smokers.

It is certainly true that in this topic doesn't exist a lot of arguments in favour but there are just 2 that I could find, the first one is that the smoking give many jobs to the people in the factories and in the shops.

Another point in favour is that the smoking factories should pay taxes to the goverment and it benefits all the people with resources to the environment fixing the roads in the cities and something like that.

On the other hand there are a lot of argument against of the smoking, below I going to mention some:

one argument and in my point of view is the most important is that the smoking develop cancer, also there are some like: affects the taste and sight senses, also causes bad breath, affects sexual performance, also producing choking and obvious that is needless to say the addiction than cause and how it affects the people that don't smoke.

In my point of view the smoking is a really an disease and an addiction and all the things that causes in the life of all people, I think that the smoking is the worst creation, I think that the smoking should be banned in the life, but on the another hand many people would lose their jobs, In conclusion this is a big problem that really needs to be resolved but we need help.

SHOULD THE DOCTORS BE ALLOWED TO DO WHAT MISS B ASKS???

This is an interesting topic which I would really like to talk about because it is a common situation that happens very frequent , and also that is turning into one of the most popular problems for people up to now.

To my mind, she is a woman who is conscious of her illness, I mean, she does really know what it is, and what her situation is, so if she says she wants to die I think everybody must respect her point of view because it is her life anyway, even if we do not agree with it or if we are not allowed to do anything about it.

Also I think she is right about the decision she is taking because if she does not have a partner and children either, so, what would she like to continue living for?..who is she going to stay with?,
she should die in a peaceful way and it would be great if she stopped suffering!..
Something I do not agree with is with the matter of making a person suffer for a longer time , because if we are as intelligent as we say we are, we should know that the person who is into that gurney wishes something for his or her benefit and that is what really matters in a case like this, we should set apart laws and everything related to it, that does not allow to do what the person wants to.

Finally if I were a doctor, I would do what the patient says to me because that is the principal person we have to take into account when coming to a decision..so we should change this way to think because it makes people suffer for longer .

Let´s change the way we are thinking about it ....
